LaVon Hardison Quartet: "That's All"

Mark your calendars for January 30th, as The Royal Room will welcome the LaVon Hardison Quartet. Ms. Hardison sings jazz standards, originals, and her own eclectic and compelling arrangements of popular songs. Winner of the 2016 Seattle-Kobe Sister City Jazz Vocalist Competition, LaVon has brings a soulful storytelling to her performances every night. Playing with her are some of the Northwest's top musicians: David Deacon-Joyner on piano, Dean Schmidt on bass, and Jeff Busch on drums.

Come spend the evening with some of Seattle’s best pianists this Wednesday at Piano Starts Here! We will be celebrating jazz legends Tadd Dameron and Thelonious Monk. Tadd Dameron worked with everyone who was anyone in jazz, from Miles Davis to Artie Shaw, Count Basie to John Coltrane, and was a definitive arranger/composer of the bop era. Thelonious Monk needs no introduction.

Mark your calendars for January 27! A talented double bill of Banda Magda and The Cumbieros will be coming to the Royal Room. Banda Magda’s eclectic sound moves from samba to French chanson, from Greek folk tunes to Colombian cumbia and Afro-Peruvian lando. Seattle based group The Cumbieros are a multi-national cumbia band made up of talented musicians from Chile, Brazil and North America.

[01/15/17]   Join us on January 19 for an evening with Holly Bowling! The talented pianist will be celebrating the music of Phish and the Grateful Dead reimagined for solo piano. Using classical piano technique to reinterpret these jamband luminaries, Holly’s live performances infuse new with old, tradition with surreal, and creates a concert experience like nothing else in the music world.

Tonight we have the talented and heralded Amy Miller headlining a night of comedy at The Royal Room! After a move to Portland, Amy quickly rose to the top of the Northwest comedy scene, winning Portland’s Funniest Comedian in Helium Comedy Club’s contest, as well as being voted Portland’s Funniest 2013 and 2015 in the Willamette Week. Amy was a breakout favorite in Season 9 of Last Comic Standing. Roseanne Barr called her “a star” and a “contender for next alpha female comedian.”
